Selcuk Aydin vs. Jo Jo Dan II - Unfinished Business

In June 2010 Selcuk Aydin scored a controversial decision win over Canada based Romanian Ionut "Jo Jo Dan" Ion to win the WBC Silver welterweight championship. After Aydin knocked Jo Jo down in the first he was given the nod after 12 hard fought rounds leaving many open questions.

"I wanted to stop Jo Jo in that first fight and I know that I will stop him in the second", says Aydin. "He didn't come to fight last time. He came to survive. I won't let him get away with that again. I promise that he will not hear the final bell this time."

"I won the first fight and I win the second one, too", says Dan. "Selcuk knows that I beat him last time and that I will beat him anywhere and anytime. That's why I'm not afraid of going back to Turkey. I think I made a lot of friends there with my last performance because everybody saw that I won the fight."

"Aydin vs. Dan II - Unfinished Business" will take place on November 26th in Trabzon, Turkey.

Airich vs. Vekiloglu for the IBF intercontinental heavyweight championship on Oct. 14th in Germany - live on Eurosport

On October 14th German heavyweight contenders Konstantin Airich (21-5-2) and Varol Vekiloglu (18-2-1) face off for the vacant IBF intercontinental championship at Mehrzweckhalle Obertraubling in Regensburg, Germany. The winner of the bout will earn a top 15 position in the IBF rankings qualifying him for a world title fight against Wladimir Klitschko.

"Klitschko picked Mormeck for his next bout in December who is currently ranked on no. 12 by the IBF", says Vekiloglu’s manager and trainer Robert Rolle. "The winner of the Oct. 14th intercontinental championship should end up in that region so it is possible to earn a title shot by winning this fight. Germany is the main market for the Klitschkos so they might pick a German opponent next who qualified by beating another German contender."

Of course, the perspective of possibly challenging the dominant world champion is extra motivation for both competitors. „The Relentless Lion“ Vekiloglu says he rather bites in the ring than roaring before the fight.

"I’m not a man of big words", says Vekiloglu. "I know that this is my big chance to entert he big leagues. Konstantin Airich is a very experienced and tough opponent. They say he is one of the hardest hitters out there and I will surely not underestimate him. But I’m very well prepared for this challenge and I believe in my own strength."

Airich is also convinced that he will be victorious and win the vacant title. "I know what I'm capable of", says the "Sandman". "I have been in the ring with a lot of excellent opponents over the last years. This is a big opportunity for me and I thank ARENA for putting me into this fight. I’m looking forward to October 14th."

Airich vs. Vekiloglu will be broadcasted live on Eurosport on October 14th at 21.00h (9pm CET). The co-main event of the "Heavy Night in Regensburg" features local hero Alexander Petkovic in a WBA international heyvweight championship.

Yuriorkis Gamboa returns on September 10th in Atlantic City

"El Ciclon de Guantanamo" is headed for the US east coast again. Cuban superstar Yuriorkis Gamboa will return to action on September 10th in Atlantic City. As always Gamboa promises an exciting and spectacular performance. So far he scored 20 wins in as many pro-fights knocking out various high-class opponents at will and cleaning up the featherweight division.

A possible showdown with Puerto Rican star Juan Manuel Lopez was prevented by Lopez' loss against Orlando Salido (who Gamboa already beat in impressive fashion). So Gamboa might look for new challenges and move up in weight in case he wins on September 10th. His main goal is a fight against Filipino megastar Manny Pacquiao who currently campaigns at light welterweight...

HBO will broadcast Gamboa's fight on September 10th.
